Water Wise Fest brings free Halloween activities and water conservation education to Central Green at LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch on Saturday, Oct. 31.
The event runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 23501 Cinco Ranch Blvd. Admission is free.
Local Municipal Utility Districts are hosting the gathering, with Katy-based water management company Inframark promoting it alongside other area water organizations, My Neighborhood News reported. The specific participating MUDs have not been named publicly.
Inframark now operates as a flagship brand under parent company Azuria Water Solutions after the two completed a combination in April.
The lineup includes a DJ, balloon art, face painting, stickers and giveaways. A Halloween-themed "Tent and Treat" activity rounds out the morning, and costumes are welcome, according to the Central Green Park event listing. Organizers encouraged families to bring candy buckets.
The North Fort Bend Water Authority (NFBWA) plans to bring its Mobile Learning Lab, a traveling educational exhibit that walks families through the water cycle, subsidence, water infrastructure and conservation through interactive stations. NFBWA team members walk groups through the lab and hand out swag. The authority serves the Fulshear area and works to reduce the region's dependence on groundwater.
The NFBWA also offers conservation resources for area residents, including sprinkler system evaluations and water conservation rebates.
The fest gives families a no-cost Halloween morning option alongside other area events. Katy's Trunk or Treat, a separate free event with candy and games, takes place Oct. 29 at Katy City Park, as we reported Oct. 12.
