Katy-area residents can drop off unused or expired prescription medications Saturday, Oct. 24, at the Katy ISD Law Enforcement Center on Franz Road.

The collection runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 20370 Franz Road.

The event is part of the Drug Enforcement Administration's National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, a twice-yearly program that sets up collection sites at law enforcement agencies nationwide. Katy ISD posted the details on X, directing residents to the LEC or to DEATakeBack.com to find other nearby drop-off locations.

The DEA's most recent Take Back Day, held in April 2026, collected 642,410 pounds across 4,417 collection sites, according to the agency's website. The program has collected more than 10,517 tons total.

Residents who cannot make Saturday's event can search for year-round drop-off locations at the DEA's website.
