Fulshear's junior varsity boys cross country team scored 175 points and finished fifth at the Brenham Hillacious Invitational on Sept. 5.

Connor Jones led the Fulshear JV Chargers with a 19th-place finish in 20 minutes, 50 seconds at the meet held at Brenham High School. That put him just three seconds behind Ethan Encarnacion of the Tomas Gators, who crossed in 20:47 and placed 17th, according to the Fort Bend Herald.

Elijah Gray followed Jones in 22nd place at 21:16. Mason Carr placed 24th in 21:29, keeping Fulshear's top three within 39 seconds of each other.

Jonathan Jobin (53rd, 22:22) and Jake Nguyen (57th, 22:38) rounded out the scoring five for the Chargers.

The Tomas Gators JV squad finished seventh with 252 points. George Ranch entered two JV teams, placing 11th with 320 points and 14th with 340 points, according to the Herald's roundup published Sept. 13.

Four Fulshear JV Lady Chargers also ran in the girls race, though no team score was recorded. Sofia Guerra posted the fastest time of the group at 13:55. Emma Sharp crossed at 15:08, Harper Poole at 16:24 and Riyana Shafeeq at 18:20.

The Brenham Hillacious Invitational was hosted by Brenham High School. Fulshear's next meet date has not been announced.
