A new gift and home boutique has opened on Katy's historic downtown square, joining at least two other independent shops that set up near the old town center in August.

The Gifted Nest opened Aug. 28, according to the store's Instagram page, at 908 Avenue B Suite 102. The shop shares a building with Southern Dough Baking Company and sells home goods, candles, women's and baby apparel, and offers monogramming, according to the Katy Times.

The store is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. It is closed Monday.

Katy-area realtor Cassie D, who visited the store shortly after its opening, posted a TikTok video highlighting the merchandise.

@soldwithcass: "Old Katy just got a little cuter!"

Her video showed clothing, pajamas, personalized baby items and Katy High School gear among the offerings. The store's Facebook page describes the business as "a gift and home boutique located right on the historic town square" and had 411 likes as of Sept. 11.

The Gifted Nest is the latest in a string of independent retailers choosing the historic square. The Lost Story Bookshop, a women-author-focused store founded by 11-year Katy resident Afton Seeser, opened one block away at 1001 Avenue B on Aug. 29. Sookie's Needlepoint, a mother-and-daughter-owned shop, also opened in the downtown area in August, according to Community Impact.

"It just didn't make sense why Old Town Katy didn't have a bookshop … Something just told me to do this, and I listened to those whispers," Seeser told Katy Magazine ahead of her store's Aug. 29 opening.

The Gifted Nest's owner has not been publicly identified in available reports. Shoppers can visit Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, noon to 5 p.m., at 908 Avenue B Suite 102.
