Katy Pride LGBTQ+ Inc. will host its fourth annual celebration Saturday, Oct. 3, at Bear Creek Rodeo Arena with free admission, live music, a kids zone and a western-inspired theme.

The event runs 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the arena, 3230 Highway 6 in Houston. Parking is also free, and the celebration goes on rain or shine.

This year's theme is "Stand Tall, Y'all." The lineup includes indie-folk artist Olive Klug, Sweet Petunia, Sarah Golden and DJ Crazy V. An expanded kids zone will feature a petting zoo, inflatables, interactive games and face painting. Food trucks, local vendors and beer and wine round out the day.

"Every year, our goal is to create a space where everyone feels welcomed, celebrated, and connected," Kristina Shackelford, Katy Pride's director of pride celebration, said in the event announcement. "This year's event reflects the incredible growth of our organization and the support we've received from our community."

A kick-off party opens the weekend Thursday, Oct. 1, at 6 p.m. at Home Run Dugout, 22819 Mercantile Parkway in Katy. Texas country artist Paige Lewis performs. Tickets are available through the organization's Givebutter page.

The arena venue carries some history. Last year's celebration landed at Bear Creek after Typhoon Texas canceled as the host site roughly 72 hours before the Oct. 18, 2025, event. Harris County Precinct 4 Commissioner Lesley Briones and her staff stepped in to secure the rodeo arena on short notice, KHOU 11 reported.

More than 1,000 people attended that day, according to OutSmart Magazine. Briones delivered remarks at the 2025 event emphasizing unity and visibility for Harris County's LGBTQ+ community.

Her office is again providing the Bear Creek space for the 2026 event, according to the announcement from Katy Pride.

The volunteer-led nonprofit, a registered 501(c)(3), says it has served more than 2,000 community members since launching in 2023. It lists more than 12 events per year on its website.
