The world's top-ranked Uber Eats restaurant has a Katy address. Demand is already outpacing expectations.

Aga's, the Indian-Pakistani restaurant named the No. 1 single-location restaurant in the world for Uber Eats orders based on 2025 platform data, opened a to-go-only outpost at 102 W. Grand Pkwy. S., Suite 100, in the Grand Crossing shopping center near Costco. The Katy location is already processing about 700 orders a day, roughly double what the company projected, according to Click2Houston, which cited CEO Shaukat "Sal" Maredia.

Maredia told the Houston Chronicle that Aga's has held the No. 1 Uber Eats single-location spot for at least three years.

The Katy store is Aga's first expansion beyond its flagship at 11842 Wilcrest Dr. in southwest Houston, which opened in 2001. The Maredia family took over in 2010. That original location seats more than 700 people and still draws hours-long lines, according to the Chronicle. It serves more than 4,000 customers daily, employs about 200 people and uses roughly 30,000 pounds of chicken a month, Click2Houston reported.

"It's not a restaurant; it's a food factory," Maredia told the Chronicle.

Customer requests drove the Katy expansion. Zain Maredia, head of growth and strategy for Aga's, told Covering Katy in a May 23 interview that diners from Katy regularly asked the family to open a location closer to them. Planning for the site began about two years ago, according to the Chronicle.

The 4,290-square-foot Katy location runs a streamlined menu of 108 items, pared from the flagship's 225, according to Bisnow. The lineup features express versions of Aga's best-known dishes: biryanis, goat chops, chicken "lollipops," curries, kebabs, dynamite shrimp, karahi and naan. Orders are available through DoorDash, Uber Eats, Aga's own delivery system or walk-in pickup.

Maredia said he plans to open at least five more takeout-only locations across the Houston area before expanding to other Texas markets and eventually nationwide. He told the Chronicle the company will not cut corners to grow.

"Everything is made fresh. We will never compromise on quality just to open new locations," he said.

Beyond the restaurant expansion, Aga's is building a $1.5 million commissary kitchen at 140 Industrial Blvd. in Sugar Land, according to a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) filing cited by Bisnow. The kitchen could double Aga's catering capacity. The company currently handles 10 to 15 weddings and events each weekend.

The company also runs an annual scholarship program. In 2026, Aga's contributed $100,000 to 25 graduating high school seniors' college funds, Zain Maredia told Covering Katy.

No addresses or timelines for the next five locations have been announced.
