Dutch Bros Coffee will build a fourth Katy-area shop at South Fry Road and Spring Green Boulevard, near Seven Lakes High School.

A state project filing reported by My Neighborhood News shows the drive-thru coffee chain plans an approximately 986-square-foot freestanding building with both drive-thru and walk-up service at the Fort Bend County intersection. The project carries an estimated construction cost of $750,000.

Construction is scheduled to start Feb. 24, 2027, and finish July 28, 2027.

The filing does not include an official grand opening date, operating hours or hiring timeline.

The new shop would join three existing Katy-area Dutch Bros locations at 5840 N. Fry Road, 22719 Morton Ranch Road and 1709 Spring Green Boulevard. The chain also operates in Cypress, Richmond, Sugar Land, Missouri City, Spring and Humble, with eight shops inside Houston city limits and 232 across Texas, according to the company's location directory as reported by My Neighborhood News. Nationally, Dutch Bros had 1,225 locations in more than 25 states as of June 30, according to company filings cited by MLive.

The 986-square-foot footprint matches the model Dutch Bros uses across much of its system. Most of the chain's shops measure under 1,000 square feet and are built for fast drive-thru service rather than sit-down dining.

Dutch Bros CEO Christine Barone signaled the company's Texas ambitions in an August 2026 statement tied to a separate deal to acquire former Salad and Go drive-thru sites. Texas is one of the states where Dutch Bros has "built strong brand awareness" and sees "a significant opportunity to continue densifying our footprint," Barone said. That remark referred to the Salad and Go acquisition, not the Katy project specifically, but it reflects the company's broader push to add locations in markets where it already operates.

The state filing's Feb. 24, 2027, start date is the most recent official timeline for the project. Construction is set to wrap up July 28, 2027, with no opening date announced.
