Fulshear takes a 4-0 record and a four-game grip on the War for Westpark rivalry into Thursday's District 23-6A matchup against Foster at Guy K. Traylor Memorial Stadium.

Kickoff is 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1. The Chargers have won every meeting since the series began in 2022.

Fulshear opened district play with a 38-28 win over Waller, a game in which the offense showed multiple weapons. Sophomore quarterback Mason West completed 6 of 11 passes for 156 yards and a touchdown. Senior Ryland Forks, listed as a wide receiver but deployed in the backfield, carried 18 times for 113 yards and three touchdowns. Junior wideout Trey Clewis, a three-star recruit per the Houston Chronicle, hauled in three catches for 102 yards and a score, averaging 34 yards per reception.

Forks topped 1,000 all-purpose yards last season. Clewis and West give the Chargers a passing game that complements a ground attack led by Forks.

The defense has matched the offense's production. Fulshear allowed 22 total points across three non-district games against Dekaney, Bush and Jersey Village, an average of 7.3 per contest. Junior linebacker Ouwatimileyin Joshua Odunlami leads the team with two sacks this season. Senior defensive back Jaxton Drain has an interception.

Foster (1-3, 0-1) enters off a 28-14 loss to George Ranch in the Brawl on The Brazos to open district play. Senior quarterback Cannon Volf made his 2026 debut in that game after missing time with an injury. He completed 10 of 19 passes for 113 yards but threw two interceptions. Running back Charlie Onuba carried 17 times for 76 yards.

Foster head coach Shane Hanks told the Fort Bend Herald on Sept. 29 that Volf looked "a bit rusty" but showed "good composure and had good command of the offense." Hanks added that the Falcons needed to clean up pre-snap and holding penalties that put them behind the chains.

Volf faces a Chargers defense that held three non-district opponents to 22 total points before the Waller game. Fulshear has outscored its four opponents by a combined 50 points while allowing 28 in the district opener alone.

The Chargers' next test after Thursday is not yet listed on the District 23-6A schedule available as of publication.
