Katy shut out Seven Lakes 55-0 on Friday, Oct. 2, at Rhodes Stadium in a District 22-6A game.

The win pushed Katy to 6-0 overall and 4-0 in district play. Seven Lakes dropped to 0-5.

Katy entered the game ranked No. 6 in Class 6A by Dave Campbell's Texas Football and No. 10 across all classifications in the MaxPreps computer rankings. The Tigers had already beaten Cinco Ranch 30-3 in Week 5. The 55-point margin against the Spartans was the widest of any confirmed Katy district result this season.

No individual game statistics were available as of Oct. 3. The final score was confirmed by CW39, SI.com and the Dallas Morning News, which listed Katy among the state's ranked winners for Week 6. SI.com highlighted the result as one of the biggest of the night statewide.

Katy defensive backs lead area in interceptions

Through the first six weeks, two Katy defensive backs sit atop area interception leaderboards. Senior Caleb Ritter and junior David Oluto-Judah each had five interceptions on the season heading into Week 6, according to MaxPreps statistical leaders. Whether either added to that total against Seven Lakes was not confirmed.

The Tigers have allowed just three points in their last two district games, combining the 30-3 win over Cinco Ranch with the shutout of Seven Lakes.

Fulshear shuts out Richmond Foster

Across town, Fulshear posted its own shutout. The Chargers beat Richmond Foster 38-0 on Thursday, Oct. 1, according to Associated Press scores.

Katy's Week 7 game is scheduled between Oct. 8 and Oct. 10, according to the Dave Campbell's Texas Football schedule. The specific opponent had not been confirmed as of Oct. 3. Seven Lakes will look to end a five-game losing streak when district play continues the same week.
