Fort Bend County Libraries is giving children ages 2 through 12 a shot at free Disney On Ice tickets if they read five books.
The deal works through the "Reading Is Cool" program, a partnership between Disney On Ice and the library system, according to Fort Bend County Libraries. The reward: one free reserved-seat ticket to Disney On Ice presents Magic in the Stars, running Thursday, Nov. 12, through Sunday, Nov. 15, at Reliant Stadium in Houston.
Two Fort Bend County Libraries branches serve the Katy and Fulshear area and carry the Reward Club Cards families need to get started.
How it works
Parents take their children to the Youth Services Department at any Fort Bend County Libraries branch and pick up an official Disney On Ice Reward Club Card. For each book a child reads, a librarian stamps the card. Five stamps earn a free ticket.
Once the card is complete, families redeem it at the stadium's box office for a free reserved seat. The card itself lists redemption instructions, box office hours and dates, according to the library system.
There's a catch: one paid adult ticket is required to redeem the free child's ticket. Paid tickets will be seated next to the child's free seat. Each child can earn only one ticket. Children younger than 2 do not need a ticket to attend.
Complimentary tickets are subject to availability, so completing the reading requirement does not guarantee admission to a particular performance, My Neighborhood News reported.

The two closest Fort Bend County Libraries branches for Katy and Fulshear families are:

Disney On Ice presents Magic in the Stars runs seven performances over four days at Reliant Stadium:
- Thursday, Nov. 12 — 7 p.m.
- Friday, Nov. 13 — 10:30 a.m. and 7 p.m.
- Saturday, Nov. 14 — 11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.
- Sunday, Nov. 15 — 1 p.m.
Guests ages 2 and older must have tickets. Costumes are not permitted for guests ages 14 and older.
Families should confirm Reward Club Card availability and redemption details directly with their local branch before visiting. No specific deadline for picking up or completing the cards has been published.
