Dr. Arash Ronaghy and Charina Ronaghy have taken over Amazing Thai Cuisine on Westheimer Parkway in Katy, putting a certified Thai Royal Cuisine chef behind the stove.

The couple, who live in the Energy Corridor, purchased the restaurant at 20660 Westheimer Parkway at South Fry Road earlier in 2026, as first reported by the Katy Times. The previous owners helped them through the transition, Arash Ronaghy said.

Charina Ronaghy grew up in Thailand, where she learned traditional cooking from her mother. While studying in Europe, she regularly cooked Thai food for friends and colleagues. She later worked as an engineer while spending two years studying Thai cuisine in the evenings and earned a Certified Thai Royal Cuisine Chef designation, according to the couple.

Arash Ronaghy, a physician who trained at a Houston medical center, met Charina when she was volunteering there. He said his wife's cooking speaks for itself. When the couple visits her family in Thailand, he recalled, relatives and friends ask to come over specifically for her food.

"I remember thinking, 'Thai people are asking to come to my wife's house to eat her cooking,'" Arash Ronaghy told the Katy Times. "That says a lot."

The menu keeps traditional dishes like chicken satay, pad see ew and green curry alongside what the owners call "fun dishes." Those include chicken satay pizza and green curry pizza. The chicken satay, one of the most popular appetizers, features tender marinated chicken skewers that are flame-grilled and served with peanut sauce and cucumber relish. The dessert lineup includes mango sticky rice and a saffron-infused chocolate caramel cake.

Arash Ronaghy said the restaurant's biggest differentiator is Charina's cooking and her commitment to fresh ingredients. The couple's main challenge has been visibility. He described the spot as "a little hidden gem in Katy," noting that one couple who lives blocks away had no idea the restaurant existed until they walked in.
