Tompkins volleyball holds at No. 23 in TGCA poll

Tompkins volleyball climbed one spot to No. 23 in the Texas Girls Coaches Association Class 6A state poll released Sept. 9, according to the Katy Times. The Falcons carry a 17-5 record.

The ranking caps a volatile stretch. Tompkins opened the season eighth in the TGCA preseason poll July 8, surged to No. 1 by Aug. 18, slipped to No. 2 on Aug. 24 behind Allen and dropped to No. 24 in the Sept. 1 poll.

Cypress Ranch sits one spot behind Tompkins at No. 24 with a 20-7 record. Aledo rounds out the top 25, also at 20-7.

The Sept. 14 TGCA poll shows Tompkins still at No. 23 with the same 17-5 mark. No other Katy ISD teams appear in the Class 6A rankings, and Seven Lakes, which started the season ranked seventh alongside Tompkins, has fallen out of the top 25.
