Aristoi Classical Academy wants to raise $35,000 for a student-athlete weight room at its third annual Griffin Virtue Run on Saturday, Sept. 19, at Katy Beer Garden.

The 5K run starts at 7 a.m., with registration opening at 6:30 a.m. Student registration costs $10 and adult registration costs $20. Each participant receives a golf towel, according to the Aristoi Booster Club registration page.

Proceeds will fund the weight room at Aristoi's Logic & Rhetoric campus, 5610 Morton Road.

The goal marks a jump from last year. Organizer Abby Lacy told Covering Katy the 2025 run drew more than 550 participants and raised about $28,000 for Aristoi athletics. The inaugural 2024 event funded an athletic van for the school.

Aristoi won the Texas Charter Schools Athletic League Texas Cup for the third consecutive year in 2026, finishing with a school-record 61 points. The Texas Cup goes to the league member school with the highest combined total across academics, athletics and fine arts.

During the 2025-26 school year, Aristoi claimed state championships in boys volleyball and girls flag football, a third-place state finish in girls cross country and a regional championship in girls soccer. Three student-athletes signed in June to compete at the college level.

Athletic director Terrence Boling told Covering Katy after the 2025 run that the event had grown beyond a fundraiser. "We witnessed a community gathering around a shared purpose, shared joy, and shared generosity," Boling said.

Aristoi Classical Academy is a tuition-free public charter school serving kindergarten through 12th grade, with two campuses in Katy.

Packet pickup and registration

Runners can pick up packets Thursday, Sept. 17, from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Boardwalk Dental Studio, 25318 Kingsland Blvd., or Friday, Sept. 18, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Good Times Running Co., 22764 Westheimer Pkwy., Suite 650. Online registration is open at aristoiboosterclub.org/virtuerun26.
