Guilherme Da Silva has spent 15 years working at Chama Gaúcha Brazilian Steakhouse's Houston flagship, serving Katy-area diners who made the drive to Westheimer Road. In mid-September 2026, he'll bring the restaurant to his own neighborhood.
Chama Gaúcha plans to open its second Houston-area location at 24205 Bella Katy Drive in Katy, less than a mile west of the Grand Parkway along the Katy Freeway, My Neighborhood News reported in an Aug. 11 story. The upscale Brazilian steakhouse will occupy the former Doneraki Mexican Grill and Seafood space, which has permanently closed.
Da Silva, a Brazilian native and Katy resident, has been with the brand since it opened its Houston location at 5865 Westheimer Road in 2011. He will manage the Katy location.
"We've welcomed many guests from Katy at our Westheimer location for so long that opening here has always been part of our vision," Da Silva said in the Aug. 11 announcement. "We're excited to finally bring the Chama Gaúcha experience closer to home for those loyal guests while introducing our authentic Brazilian hospitality to those who live and work in the area."
The Katy restaurant will be the chain's sixth location overall. Founded in San Antonio in 2008, Chama Gaúcha now operates in Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, Chicago and two San Antonio spots. The name translates to "Gaucho's Flame" in Portuguese.
Menu and service
Chama Gaúcha uses a rodízio-style format: gauchos carry skewers of freshly grilled meats tableside, and diners flip a two-sided card to green when they're ready for more or red when they need a break. The beef is Midwest USDA Prime, corn-fed and aged more than 45 days. Featured cuts include picanha (Brazilian-style top sirloin), filet mignon, ribeye, costela, Colorado lamb and linguiça Brazilian sausage.
The full experience also includes a gourmet salad bar with more than 30 selections, plus traditional sides like caramelized bananas, garlic mashed potatoes, fried polenta and pão de queijo (warm Brazilian cheese bread).
Pricing and private dining
According to the restaurant's Katy page, the full dinner experience is $69.95 per person. A salad-bar-only option runs $38.95. Kids ages 4–7 eat for $32.95; ages 8–11 are $45.95.
The location will feature five private dining rooms accommodating groups of roughly 20 to 150 guests, positioning it as a venue for corporate events, rehearsal dinners and holiday parties.
