Katy put up 69 points against Morton Ranch at Rhodes Stadium on Thursday, Oct. 8, cruising to a 69-6 district win that extended the Tigers' perfect season to 7-0.

The victory keeps Katy alone atop the District 22-6A standings at 5-0, according to Katy ISD Athletics. No other team in the district is unbeaten in league play.

Through seven games, the Tigers have outscored opponents 325-81, per MaxPreps. That margin has widened over the last three games. Katy beat Cinco Ranch 30-3, shut out Seven Lakes 55-0 and demolished Morton Ranch by 63 points.

Katy entered the week ranked No. 5 in Class 6A by both Dave Campbell's Texas Football and the Houston Chronicle. Sports Illustrated had the Tigers at No. 8 statewide.

The rushing attack has powered that scoring margin all season. Through six games, Katy's ground game had already piled up more than 1,889 yards and 25 touchdowns, according to On3. Oklahoma-committed offensive lineman Isaac Coughran, a preseason All-Greater Houston selection by the Touchdown Club of Houston, has anchored the run game.

"It takes all five of us," Coughran told SoonerScoop ahead of Thursday's game. "If one of us messes up then the whole thing just goes out the window."

On the other side of the ball, four-star junior defensive back David Olotu-Judah had five interceptions through the first six games and holds offers from Ohio State, Baylor, Houston and SMU, per On3. Linebacker Cade Haug earned preseason All-Greater Houston honors alongside Coughran.

Morton Ranch, which lost to Paetow 28-16 in Week 6, has struggled against the top of the district. The Mavericks had no answer for a Katy team that has won every game this season, including wins over Atascocita, Dickinson, Tompkins, Jordan, Cinco Ranch and Seven Lakes.

Katy finished 10-3 last season before falling to Summer Creek in the playoffs. This year's squad is ahead of that mark through seven weeks, and the postseason picture is already taking shape. The Houston Chronicle noted that if Taylor makes the playoffs, enrollment comparisons could push Katy into the Division I bracket.

The Tigers host Paetow on Thursday, Oct. 15, at 6:30 p.m. After that, Katy travels to Taylor on Friday, Oct. 30, and closes the regular season at home against Mayde Creek on Friday, Nov. 6.
