A free concert kicks off a busy stretch of community events across Katy, with five gatherings scheduled between Friday, Aug. 14, and Saturday, Aug. 22.

Free Concert — Aug. 14

Nowhere but Up performs at Central Green Park in LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch on Friday, Aug. 14, from 7:30 to 9 p.m. The venue is at 23501 Cinco Ranch Blvd. Attendees can bring blankets and lawn chairs, and admission is free.

Katy ISD partner open house — Aug. 19

Katy ISD's Partners in Education Department will hold its Business and Community Partner Open House on Wednesday, Aug. 19, from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Merrell Center, 6301 S. Stadium Lane. Vendor check-in opens at 6:45 a.m. The event connects local businesses with parents, volunteer leaders and campus liaisons ahead of the 2026–2027 school year.

Bingo Night and supply drive — Aug. 20

Pegasus Landing of Katy, a senior living community at 1520 Katy Gap Road, hosts Bingo Night and a school supply drive on Thursday, Aug. 20, starting at 6:30 p.m. Guests are asked to bring backpacks, pencils, paper or notebooks to donate to students at a local school. Residents will play bingo while collecting the donations.

Two free outdoor events close the week — Aug. 22

Saturday, Aug. 22, offers two options for a night out.

Gathering Grace, a collaborative worship event featuring leaders from several Katy-area church communities, takes the stage at Central Green Park, 23501 Cinco Ranch Blvd., from 7:30 to 9 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

A few miles away, the City of Katy presents Rock the Block in downtown Katy from 7 to 10 p.m. The lineup includes live music from Sector A Band, arcade games, photo booths, local food trucks and a full bar provided by Old Katy Patio. Also free.
