Fort Bend County Libraries wants Fulshear and Katy residents to help decide what the 13-branch system should focus on over the next three to five years.

The library system launched a 16-question survey called "Your Vision, Your Voice, Your Library" to gather public input for a new strategic plan. The survey is available on the Fort Bend County Libraries homepage and open to all county residents, not just library cardholders.

People who rarely visit a branch or have never used one are encouraged to respond.

A library planning committee will review the responses and use them to identify priorities and opportunities for improvement across the system, which includes the Fulshear Branch Library at 6350 GM Library Road and the Cinco Ranch Branch Library in Katy.

The committee said the survey is critical to building a plan that reflects the county's diversity, as first reported by My Neighborhood News. Officials said they want responses from people representing a wide range of locations, backgrounds and perspectives across Fort Bend County.

The planning committee is also asking residents to share the survey link with friends, family and neighbors who live in the county or use county library services.

No deadline for the survey has been announced. The committee has not set a date for when the finished strategic plan will be presented or what specific changes might result from the responses.

Residents can take the survey at fortbendlibraries.gov or go directly to the survey page.
