Smash City Burgers & Hotdogs will give away free meals to its first 100 customers when it opens a new Katy location at 1950 N. Fry Road on Saturday, Aug. 29.

The halal burger chain announced the two-day grand opening in an Aug. 19 Facebook post, promising 50% off all menu items both days along with raffles and giveaways. The grand prize is a Samsung 65-inch TV and a PlayStation 5. Second prize is an iPhone 17 Pro.

Saturday's event begins at 6 p.m. and runs until the food sells out. Sunday starts at 10 a.m., also running until sold out.

The menu goes beyond burgers. Smash City serves hot dogs, wings, loaded fries and specialty milkshakes in flavors like berry bomb and biscoff, Community Impact reported. Everything is 100% halal, according to the brand's website. One signature item: loaded fries topped with two smash beef patties, American cheese, caramelized onions, smash sauce, chives and grilled jalapeños.

Smash City started as a food truck before expanding to brick-and-mortar restaurants. The brand now lists five locations on its Instagram page, including Baton Rouge, Kenner, Austin and Houston's Westheimer Road corridor alongside the new Katy spot.

The N. Fry Road location puts Smash City near other recent restaurant additions to the corridor, including a new Chipotle.

Regular operating hours for the Katy location have not been announced. Raffle winners will be announced Tuesday, Sept. 1.
