The Harris County Sheriff's Office identified Brooke Rivera as the motorcyclist killed on the Katy Freeway near Mason Road late Wednesday night.
Rivera was riding a black 2023 Kawasaki motorcycle westbound in the 22600 block of the Katy Freeway at about 11:20 p.m. when she struck the left rear corner of a trailer being pulled by a 2023 Kenworth truck, according to HCSO investigators, as Covering Katy News first reported.
The impact threw Rivera from the motorcycle. She came to rest in the roadway.
The motorcycle continued sliding and was struck by a 2025 Chevrolet Blazer traveling in the same lane, investigators said. Neither the truck driver nor the Blazer driver was injured.
Harris County Emergency Services District 48 responded and found Rivera with no signs of life at 11:33 p.m.
The sheriff's office has not released Rivera's age or hometown and has not announced any charges. Residents with information can contact HCSO at 713-221-6000.
