Katy Kroger shopper claims $1 million scratch-off prize

A Katy resident claimed a $1 million top prize from a Texas Lottery scratch-off ticket purchased at the Kroger store at Grand Parkway and Bay Hill Boulevard.

The winner bought a $20 ticket in the 200X The Cash game and hit one of the game's four top prizes, KHOU reported Friday, Sept. 4. The winner chose to remain anonymous.

It was the second $1 million prize claimed in the game. Two more top prizes remain unclaimed.

The Kroger store that sold the ticket is eligible for a $10,000 bonus through the Texas Lottery's Retailer Bonus Program, according to lottery officials.

The Katy prize marks the fifth Texas Lottery scratch-ticket win in the Houston area in 2026, CW39 reported. Previous winners came from Cypress, League City and Pasadena.

200X The Cash, designated Game No. 2613 on the Texas Lottery's website, carries more than $115 million in total prizes across about 8.2 million tickets. The overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 3.41.
