Katy High offensive lineman Isaac Coughran and linebacker Cade Haug earned spots on the Touchdown Club of Houston's 2026 Public School High School Football Preseason Team, Katy ISD Athletics announced Wednesday, Aug. 19.

The two Tigers were honored that evening at the organization's annual Touchdowner of the Year Dinner at the Bayou City Event Center in Houston. The recognition adds individual hardware to a Katy program ranked No. 14 in the state's Class 6A preseason poll.

Haug, a three-star SMU commit, transferred to Katy from Kingwood, where he recorded 108 total tackles, 19 tackles for loss and three sacks as a junior in 2025. The Houston Chronicle's Jon Poorman wrote in the paper's Aug. 20 season preview that Haug has been "one of the most productive linebackers in the Houston area over the past three years, collecting more than 300 tackles for Kingwood."

The numbers back it up.

Coughran anchors the offensive line for a Tigers squad that VYPE Houston projects as the top team in District 22-6A this season. Both players were listed among Katy's key contributors in the outlet's preseason district breakdown.

The TD Club nod continues a pattern for the program. In 2024, four Katy ISD players earned the same honor, and the pipeline of selections reflects the district's sustained presence among Houston-area powers.

Head coach Gary Joseph enters the season 14 wins shy of 300 career victories. Katy has not advanced past the third round of the UIL playoffs since reaching the state semifinals in 2022, and both Coughran and Haug figure into the Tigers' push to change that.

The Tigers are scheduled to open the 2026 season Saturday, Aug. 29, against Atascocita.
