Katy and Fulshear commuters will hit new lane closures on the Grand Parkway and Fort Bend Parkway starting Monday, Aug. 24, as construction crews continue work along both toll roads.
The Fort Bend County Toll Road Authority announced the closures for the week of Aug. 24, 2026, according to Covering Katy. The schedule includes overnight main-lane shutdowns and daytime lane restrictions stretching into Friday.
Grand Parkway
Bellaire Boulevard (overnight): Alternating northbound main lane closures are scheduled overnight Monday, Aug. 24, into Tuesday, Aug. 25, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Peek Road frontage road (ongoing): The northbound outside lane of the frontage road at Peek Road remains closed around the clock. That long-term closure, which began July 31, is scheduled to continue through Aug. 31.
Fort Bend Parkway
Fondren Toll Plaza (overnight): Southbound drivers will encounter alternating main lane closures overnight Monday, Aug. 24, into Tuesday, Aug. 25, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Extension Plaza to Chimney Rock (daytime): The northbound right main lane and shoulder will be closed from the Fort Bend Parkway Extension Plaza to the Chimney Rock exit Monday, Aug. 24, through Friday, Aug. 28. Those closures run daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and fall within the portion of the Fort Bend Toll Road managed by the Harris County Toll Road Authority.
Westpark Tollway
No lane closures are scheduled on the Westpark Tollway for the week of Aug. 24.
What's different this week
The overnight closure at Bellaire Boulevard on the Grand Parkway is new. The Fondren Toll Plaza and Extension Plaza-to-Chimney Rock closures mirror work performed the previous week but with a slightly earlier overnight start time: 9 p.m. instead of 10 p.m. on Aug. 17.
The Peek Road frontage road closure has been in place since July 31 and is the longest-running restriction in the area. The Fort Bend County Toll Road Authority has not announced whether it will be extended past Aug. 31 or what specific construction project it serves.
