Nine businesses spanning pizza, child care, coffee, wellness and more have opened across Katy and Fulshear, adding to the commercial momentum along one of the Houston area's fastest-growing corridors.
The openings, reported by Community Impact on Tuesday, Aug. 11, include two pizzerias, an Indian-Pakistani restaurant, a coffee roastery, a child care center, a wellness studio, a hair braiding salon, a needlepoint shop and an electronics recycler.
Vocelli Pizza marks the Pittsburgh-based chain's first Greater Houston location. Owner Summiya Rafiq opened the takeout-only restaurant at 23027 Morton Ranch Rd., Suite P, Katy, with a full Halal menu tailored to the area's diverse community. The grand opening was June 19. In a December 2025 press release announcing the expansion, CEO Toni Bianco said the Houston entry "reflects the strong demand for our brand."
Aga's To Go brings Houston-based Aga's Restaurant & Catering to The Shoppes at Grand Crossing in Katy, its first new location in 25 years. The takeout-only spot offers a concise menu of lamb chops, kabobs, boti, biryani and curries.
Celebree School of Cross Creek Ranch opened May 18 at 6511 Skyline Dr., Suite 150, Fulshear. Owners Krishna and Parth Kikani, local entrepreneurs originally from India, serve children ages 6 weeks to 12 years with infant and toddler care, preschool, before- and after-school programs and summer camp. Hours are Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
"We wanted to build something meaningful, where children feel understood and supported from the very start," Krishna Kikani told the Katy Times on July 16.
Alsultan Gate Roastery opened June 28 at 23441 Kingsland Blvd., Suite 300, Katy. The shop roasts its own coffee beans and nuts on site and sells freshly ground spices, baklava, Turkish delight, gelato, waffles and crepes.
Sookie's Needlepoint, a mother-and-daughter-owned shop in historic downtown Katy at 5627 3rd St., hosts regular Stitch Night events. Brooklyn Pizzeria has opened a Fulshear-area location with scratch-made New York-style pizzas, pasta, subs, calzones and salads. Kuwama Xpress Braiding offers braiding, loc services, haircuts, washes and lash extensions in Katy, with makeup services added in August. Degree Wellness brings cryotherapy, red light facials and anti-aging therapies to the Cinco Ranch area. And City eWaste has expanded to Greater Houston, specializing in pickup and disposal of unwanted electronics.
Sookie's Needlepoint's next Stitch Night is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 13, from 6 to 8 p.m.
