Katy High sits at 4-0 overall and 2-0 in District 22-6A as the second half of district play begins, with a showdown at Cinco Ranch looming Friday, Sept. 25.

Katy ISD Athletics posted the 22-6A and 11-5A Division I standings on Monday, Sept. 21, after two weeks of district competition. The Tigers, led by head coach Gary Joseph, have outscored opponents by a combined 101-31 in district play. Katy routed Jordan 56-10 on Friday, Sept. 18, rushing for 422 yards in the win. A week earlier, the Tigers opened district with a 45-21 victory over Tompkins on Sept. 10.

Cinco Ranch sits atop the 22-6A standings on MaxPreps after beating Morton Ranch 49-7 on Thursday, Sept. 17. Head coach Chris Dudley's Cougars host Katy at 7 p.m. Friday in what shapes up as the district's marquee Week 3 matchup.

Katy entered the week ranked No. 6 in Class 6A by Dave Campbell's Texas Football, per CW39's Week 4 rankings published Sept. 15. That ranking reflected a 3-0 record before the Tigers' win over Jordan.

Seven Lakes is winless. The Spartans fell to 0-3 overall and 0-1 in district after losing to Morton Ranch 43-28 on Thursday, Sept. 17, in their district opener. Head coach Jimmy Hamon's squad hosts Paetow at 6:30 p.m. Friday before traveling to Katy on Friday, Oct. 2.

Tompkins, under head coach Todd McVey, dropped to 0-1 in district after the 45-21 loss to Katy on Sept. 10. The Falcons entered district play at 0-2 overall.

Fulshear competes in District 11-5A Division I under second-year head coach Stephen Hill, who guided the Chargers to a 7-4 record in 2025. Before the season, Fulshear junior running back Jayelen Collins told ABC13 in an Aug. 17 preseason feature that the Chargers were aiming for perfection. "Goal for the team: 16-0 easy," Collins said.

Joseph expressed similar confidence before the season, saying in the Katy ISD fall sports preview published Aug. 31 that he wanted to see his players and coaches match or exceed the traditions of Katy High School. Four games in, the Tigers have done just that.

Katy visits Cinco Ranch at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25, and Seven Lakes hosts Paetow at 6:30 p.m. the same night.
