Tompkins Falcons top Taylor 29-12 in district play

The Tompkins Falcons beat Taylor 29-12 in a District 22-6A football game Friday, Sept. 18, at Rhodes Stadium.

The 17-point victory gave head coach Todd McVey's squad its first district win of the season. Tompkins improved to 1-1 in district play and 1-3 overall, placing fourth in the District 22-6A standings, according to MaxPreps.

Taylor dropped to 3-1 overall and 1-1 in district. The Mustangs sit third in the standings.

The result completed the Katy ISD portion of the Week 4 district slate. Katy routed Jordan 56-10, and Cinco Ranch edged Paetow 28-20 in the other matchups, according to CW39 Houston.

Tompkins is competing in District 22-6A for the first time this season after moving from District 19-6A. Through four games, senior quarterback JP Vaclavik leads the offense with 665 passing yards and 774 total yards. Senior running back Ethan Meadows has 424 rushing yards, averaging 106 yards per game.

Tompkins sits fourth in District 22-6A at 1-1 heading into Week 5.
