The Waller County Sheriff's Office is asking residents who believe they were defrauded by a contractor to contact investigators, part of an active theft case the agency publicized Monday, Aug. 3.
The sheriff's office released a mugshot of the suspect and posted a press release on its website urging additional victims to identify themselves. The agency has not publicly named the suspect or disclosed the number of known victims, the alleged dollar amount or specific charges in the case.
Waller County borders the Katy area to the west, and Sheriff Troy Guidry's office serves unincorporated areas that extend toward the Katy and Fulshear communities.
Residents who hired a contractor for work that was never completed, or who recognize the suspect's mugshot on the WCSO website, can reach investigators at (979) 826-8282 or submit a tip online at wallercountytexassheriff.org/submitATip. The WCSO is also active on Facebook (wallercountysheriff) and X (@SHERIFF_WCSO).
Two more theft arrests the same day
The contractor theft appeal was one of three theft-related enforcement actions the office announced Monday. The WCSO Warrant Unit also arrested a repeat felony theft suspect on Aug. 3, and the office assisted in apprehending a livestock theft suspect in a separate case.
The sheriff's office has not publicly released suspect names or charges in those cases.
How to report information
